On Friday, March 31st 2023 the Slough Observer issued an article on the proposed new R.E.A.C.H. residential home in Chalvey, Slough.
“Plans to build a care home have been submitted at Chalvey Park, Slough (P/16841.001).
A small piece of undeveloped land could be developed to provide care facilities for people with physical and sensory disabilities.
The scheme was put forward by R.E.A.C.H. which is a family run business that started in 1996 and provides residential care for adults with disabilities and associated needs – with homes across Slough, its surrounding suburbs, and Buckinghamshire.
The proposed two-storey care home could comprise 12 bedroom dwellings, split between two blocks that hold six beds each with shared communal spaces in each block, connected by a central connecting space.
It also has one site staff offices, six parking spaces, twelve cycle bays and a mixed use storage/archive space.
This location was chosen because it is close to the town centre where individuals with disabilities can access facilities such as leisure or restaurants, and for the site to be accessed by public transport.
Planning Officers are yet to decide on the application.”
